Gerard Butler grabs a cab in New York

Gerard Butler chats on his cell phone during a stroll through New York’s West Village on Thursday, December 9. He suddenly upped his pace and dashed to catch a cab. The 41-year-old Scottish actor is back in Manhattan after spending some time in Miami earlier in the week.

Recently, Gerry received a Annie nomination in the Voice Acting in a Feature Production category for his work in the animated film How to Train Your Dragon. The Annie Awards showcases and acknowledges achievements in animation in film, television, and video game.

His upcoming film “Coriolanus”, directed by and starring Ralph Fiennes, is expected to open the 2011 Belgrade International Film Festival.

Heath Ledger footage won’t be in The Dark Knight Rises

The rumors that the late Heath Ledger will be seen as the Joker in “The Dark Knight Rises” are not true. Director Christopher Nolan and his wife producer Emma Thomas both deny that the deceased actor will be involved. Thomas said: “I heard the rumor. We’re not doing that”. Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose in January 2008.

Heath won a posthumous Academy Award (Oscar) for his performance as The Joker in the Dark Knight, but there had been rumours that cut footage from the movie could be used in the new instalment. The director and Thomas have dismissed those claims.

Also, Aaron Eckhart said he won’t be in “Dark Knight Rises”. The actor confirmed he had a meeting with Nolan on the beach and the Director delivered the news to him. “I was heartbroken,” Aaron said of learning that he won’t return as Harvey Dent.

Meanwhile, Nolan has said that “The Dark Knight Rises,” which is due in theaters in July 2012, will be his final Batman movie.

RIP Leslie Nielsen 1926 – 2010

Canadian actor and comedian Leslie Nielsen, passed away Sunday evening (Nov 28) of complications from pneumonia. In the ’60s, Nielsen took several TV roles before landing a key part in “The Poseidon Adventure” in 1972. The film follows the story of a cruise ship overturned by a tsunami, and the inhabitants’ attempt to save themselves. By the end of the decade, Nielsen would begin to pursue comedic roles almost exclusively.

His first comedy, “Airplane!” was a milestone in the field of slapstick. Leslie played Dr. Rumack, an MD so intense he wears his stethoscope even when he’s not treating patients. He can also get lasagna for dinner even if it isn’t on the flight menu. Nielsen would go on to make his most noteworthy comedic performances in the “Naked Gun” trilogy, solidifying his status as a comic great.

Beyonce on The View with mom Tina

Beyonce drops by The View this morning, November 22, with her mom, Tina Knowles to introduce Tina’s new clothing line, Miss Tina. The 29-year-old singer shared that while on stage, she wears four pairs of stockings underneath her costumes.

Beyonce was interviewed about her upcoming ABC special, ‘Beyonce’s I Am…World Tour,’ which will air on Thanksgiving and feature her husband, Jay-Z, and friend Kanye West. She was also asked about her Heat perfume ad that was recently banned on daytime TV in the UK for being sexually provocative. The studio audience then received free bottles of Beyonce’s perfume.

Channing Tatum dinner time

Channing Tatum checks messages on his iPhone as he leaves dinner at Madeo Restaurant on Tuesday, November 2, in West Hollywood. The 30-year-old actor recently celebrated Halloween with wife Jenna Dewan and pal Haylie Duff!

He dressed up as Max from Where The Wild Things Are for a party, while Jenna dressed as a peacock! The couple also dressed up their dog, Meeka, as a ladybug. Cute!

Rumors are also circulating that ‘G.I. Joe’ star Channing Tatum is attached to star as a Virginian solider. He’s sent to Russia by Benjamin Franklin to speak to the czarina. His job is to convince Catherine not to support the British in the pending American Revolution by sending Russian troops to the 13 colonies to fight. While there, Tatum’s character seduces Catherine.

Shia LaBeouf goes Shopping with Dad

Actor Shia LaBeouf squeezes in some last-minute Halloween shopping on Friday, October 29 in Toluca Lake, California. His dad, Jeffrey, accompanied him to the store, where Shia walked back to the car holding a mask. The day before, a shirtless Shia filmed some additional scenes for Transformers 3 with actor Patrick Dempsey. The movie is set to be released on July, 1st, 2011.

Shia’s ex-girlfriend Carey Mulligan has reportedly move on from the relationship and is spending time with fellow British actor Tom Sturridge. Shia and Carey ended their relationship some time ago. The couple, who began dating in year 2009, starred together in September’s “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”.

Rihanna “What’s My Name” new video

Rihanna goes to the set of her new music video for “What’s My Name” in NYC on Wednesday, October 27. The 22-year-old Barbados star rocked a pair of cutoff jean shorts and a nude low-cut tank! Last month, the singer shot scenes for the video in NYC’s Lower East Side.

Her new album “Loud” is scheduled to be released on November 10, 2010 through Def Jam Records. Thanks to a news blast from RocNation we now know the official track list. We already knew that the album would feature collaborations with Drake (“What’s My Name?”) and Nicki Minaj (“Raining Men”), but the full list points to a collaboration with Eminem on the familiar-sounding “Love the Way You Lie (Part II).”

Sofia Vergara New York Lingerie night

The always Gorgeous Sofia Vergara goes to the Seven Bar Foundation at the Lingerie New York event on Thursday, October 21. Sofia hosted the Lingerie Show in New York. She recently showed us just how much milk does her body good when she and son, Manolo, don mustaches for a milk commercial.

For this event, the Colombian beauty slipped into a skintight black dress with a lace corset. The event, which was held at Cipriani 42nd Street, raised funds for Seven Bars Foundation’s microfinance fund to empower women.

Kim Kardashian Birthday

Reality star Kim Kardashian was spotted out in New York City on her 30th birthday on Thursday, October 21. She tweeted, “I woke up to the sweetest bday messages! Seeing all of your tweets will make me smile all day! I love u guys!!!!” And then she wrote: “Welcome to the 3rd level someone just said to me! Its the 30 club. Its all VIP from here on out!!”

Kim later attended the Denise Rich Hosted 2010 Angel Ball to Benefit Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation held at Cipriani, Wall Street. Having already celebrated two early birthday fetes, she’s preparing for a big party at Glo Nightclub in Westbury, New York on Saturday night, October 23. Everyone is invited, this is not a private party, so if you are in the area, I have feeling it will be a great night! Also, rumor has it, the E! star will be doted with a birthday cake worth over $1 million dollars.

Danielle Orsino, a spokesperson for Glo Nightclub, told Radar Online, “The jeweler is going to encrust the cake with loose diamonds worth over a million dollars. Their goal is to break the record for the most expensive cake ever made which was 1.65 million dollars.”

Kim Kardashian goes to Canada

Reality celebrity Kim Kardashian was spotted at the Sherway Gardens shopping mall in Toronto, Canada this afternoon, October 19. The star of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” introduced her new Fusion beauty products. She also attended another early birthday celebration by blowing out a candle atop a giant cake.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old (October 21) darted off to Chicago for more promo duties and birthday libations after the event. Of the outbound flight, Miss Kardashian tweeted, “Heading down to Chicago for another @MichaelHill cocktail party tonight.”

Looking ever-so-stylish, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” cutie was escorted through the arrivals terminal while in town to promote her makeup at Sherway Gardens on Tuesday.
